My Canning Cupboard: Pickles and Jam

July 31, 2011 MissWattson Leave a Comment

Pickles and strawberry-rhubarb jam filled my canning cupboard in early July. Now pickled cherries are down there too, along with sour cherry jam, sour cherry jam with vanilla amaretto, and sour cherry syrup with rum. Soon there will be pickled turnips added…though those may end up in the fridge just in case.

I feel as though this is the equivalent of taking pictures of your newborn. You know, you want to capture him/her/it at various stages of development, so you remember all the good times.

The ups and the downs. The tears (mine, not his/hers/its). The flavours. I never thought I’d have so many children, and never want to stop.

Everything Else canning cupboard, jam, pickles, preserves
