The Petit Zé Cocktail at Le Royal for Cocktail Invasion 2018

Have you heard of Bar Le Royal? It’s the cocktail speakeasy behind Rouge-Gorge in the Plateau. Personally, I rarely step past the beautiful natural wines on offer in the front half of the place, but I’d make an exception for Cocktail Invasion, the week when you can faire le tour of Montreal bars with your cocktail passport.

From May 14-20, grab this creation from Le Royal mixologists Manu Ruiz and Maximilien Jean. It’s the perfect Friday afternoon post-work sweetie, full of sweet red fruit balanced with bitter sage and sour lime.

The Petit Zé Cocktail

Luxardo Maraschino
Raspberry eau-de-vie
Lime juice
Cherries
Sage

I have no idea what the quantities are, so you’ll have to get the Royal mixmasters to make you a version before trying your own at home. Or wing it. When in doubt, add more of something and see how it goes. Adjust as necessary, then invite friends to drink the way-too-much-cocktail that you made.

Everything Else best cocktail bars montreal, cocktail invasion 2018, le royal, rouge gorge, speakeasy montreal, wine bars
