Talking Food and Restaurants on the Radio with the Montreal Gazette’s New Food Writers

Montreal Gazette new food writers

Last week I was a guest on two local radio shows with the other members of the Montreal Gazette’s new team of food writers.

CBC Radio Noon

invited Isa Tousignant (who’s writing lists), Joanna Fox (who’s writing reviews) and myself (I’m writing food features) to be part of their hour-long lunchtime call-in show to talk about what kinds of coverage people can expect from us and what places and trends are on our radar now. We talked about everything from a new wine bar, to the challenges and upsides of writing a negative review, to how Joanna’s reviews will shift between high-end and low-end so that normal people can eat out on her suggestions more often without breaking the bank.

Here’s the stream of that Radio Noon show hosted by Leah Hendry.

CJAD Montreal Eats

Then on Saturday, Isa and I were guests on Shaun Starr and Kelly Albert’s show Montreal Eats on CJAD 800. We talked about how we got the new food writing gig, my Twitter handle (lobsters and drinking in parks) and how much ice cream Isa has eaten in the name of professionalism.

Here’s the stream of Montreal Eats in CJAD.

We’re only featured in a bit of it, so you’ll need to skip ahead to find it. It’s just after the kitchen fridge segment.
